Our 91st OnRamp client, Miranda Locke’s infectious smile made yesterday’s donation a true delight! This single mom of 4 kids under eight years old (when does she ever sleep!!) has been through incredible hardships in the last few years, which have left her and her kids without any vehicle or any money to purchase a vehicle. She needs to travel almost 400 miles per week for work, church, her kids’ schools and daycare, medical appointments, and counseling. She’s doing everything she can to provide, including recently completing CDL training and licensure so she can work as a district bus driver which helps her both support her family and still have time free after school is out to raise her kids. She is currently in school studying to become a doula because she believes this career will enable her to encourage and bless new mothers who may be struggling like she did. Miranda is so ministry minded! She’s also learning budgeting and financial planning through her church to build her savings and security. She is a truly deserving OnRamp client.
When her good friend and confidant Lindy nominated her to OnRamp, we gladly accepted her into our program and purchased this beautiful gold Honda Odyssey (we buy and donate a LOT of Odysseys!) We pray this living-room-on-wheels will serve her and her kids well for many years to come.
Thanks to Taylor Carlson and Jill Butler for leading this client case, and Emily Myers for the pictures, shared with client permission. Thanks to Joey Dewolf for finding this van, Chip Jennings and Rami Cerone for acquiring it, and Christian Brothers Automotive for doing all the needed maintenance at a steep discount.
